Notice of Annual General Meeting 2026

The Hampshire County Youth Band Association will be holding its AGM at 10:15am on Saturday 3 October 2026 at Barton Peveril . All members are invited to attend. Parents and legal guardians of current band members, as well as the conductors of the bands, are automatically members of the Association.
The agenda will be made available before the meeting.
We are looking for new committee members. As well as six current committee members who wish to continue in their roles, we have seven further vacancies. If you would like to find out more please speak to any of the current team. Committee members are voted in during the AGM. Role descriptions of office positions can be found here:

Natalis, by Martin Ellerby, performed by HCYB. Natalis was written for HCYB in 1993 for the 30th Anniversary of the band – great to re-learn it for the 60th anniversary year.

60th Anniversary concerts
Two concerts were held on the weekend of 15 -16 April 2023 at The Anvil in Basingstoke, the home of so many memorable HCYB performances for nearly 30 years.
Saturday 15 April 2023 6pm
The Hampshire County Junior, Training, and Youth Bands and the HCYB Percussion Ensemble performed in the first half, featuring a newly commissioned work by Paul Lovatt-Cooper which has been written especially for the occasion.
The reunion band of nearly 200 former members across our 60-year history, performed in the second half. As well as members of the current HCYBs team, David Rich (son of, and representing Leighton Rich), and Tony Knight (son of, and representing the founder of the HCYBs, John Knight) all took up the baton to lead the group.
